Rock Climbing in the New River Gorge
New River Gorge is unique in its geological structure. Our endless natural wall is 5 miles long on each side of the Gorge allowing each climb to present you with a unique climbing experience no matter how many climbs you do. The Gorge presents climbs ranging from those appropriate to beginners to the most expert climb possible which is why world famous climbers such as Doug Reed have made Fayetteville West Virginia their home. New River Gorge climbing has amazing hard rock formations which means that the rock is hard and not flaky. This allows climbers of all abilities to experience different types of rock climbing techniques. The walls of the Gorge range in height from 80 to 130 feet tall and are poised 800 feet above the New River. This ‘Endless Wall’ provides thousands of climbing routes as well as some of the most outstanding scenery in the world.

  • This is the best rock climbing trip. Our family has never been rock climbing and our instructor was fun and completely entertained our teenagers. They were able to learn at their rate while Mom and Dad were able to take it easier. I would definitely recommend that every family experience rock climbing together.

  • I have primarily climbed out west but all my friends kept telling me to try the New River Gorge. This place is totally awesome and my new rock climbing home. Even though I have lots of experience climbing in the Rockies the guides were able to show me a thing or two. These guys really know their stuff.
